They Laughed in My Face When I
Said I'd Run a Marathon, But...

How To Easily Train And Prepare Your Mind & Body For The Toughest Challenge On Earth

Marathons don't need to be difficult. In fact, running a marathon can be a fun and rewarding experience! But only if you know the training secrets and step-by-step programs kept hidden by top marathon runners...

From: Tim Hackbarth

When I set out to run my first marathon, I had no idea what I was doing. I hadn't run consistently since high school (a long time ago!) and I was out of shape.

"I have a lot of catching up to do," I thought. And I ran 100 miles in my first month of training. BAD IDEA.

You can probably guess what happened. My body couldn't handle the stress and I began to suffer from knee problems, back problems and worst of all...I fell behind in my training.

That's when I began looking for REAL advice on how to properly train for and run a marathon. I devoured everything I could find on the subject, from classic books and famous marathon runners to magazines and tips from friends and family. Soon, I was overwhelmed with great advice, and I began to write it down.

Fast forward to 2009.

I've now completed two marathons, the second under my goal time of 4 hours. And I did it with less training and in less time than my friends and family thought possible.

The Marathon Manual Will Work for YOU

Marathon Manual is based on TONS of Research. But even better, from personal experience. I’ve been through this. And I’ve made the mistakes so you won’t have to. I’ve trained. I’ve tried all different types and styles of clothing to find the perfect stuff. I’ve had injuries and I’ve overcome them. I’ve experienced it all. But, that’s not enough. I wanted to make it the best.

So, I headed to the library and uncovered any information I could find on running a marathon. I looked through books, magazine articles, journal entries and more. After months and months of research, it’s all finally compiled into one place – the Marathon Manual. And I’m completely confident that it’s the best guide you’ll find on how to run a marathon.

What's Contained in the Marathon Manual?

The Marathon Manual starts at the beginning. It gives you everything you need to start training, even if you’ve never run before! Even if you’re sitting on the couch right now, thinking 26.2 miles is impossible…Marathon Manual will show you just how to do it. Guaranteed.

The Marathon Manual has a step-by-step guide on how to set your marathon goal. It explains how to choose your training schedule whether you’re a beginner or an old pro. It gives you the secrets to avoiding injury. Next, it guides you step-by-step on everything you’ll need to know on race day – and, the most common mistakes runners make the week before the race.

You’ll learn key stretches to prevent injury. Top tricks that give you energy to be at your best performance. How to stay comfortable while running in all types of weather. Surefire ways to enjoy EVERY run. Guaranteed methods to overcome “Hitting the Wall.” It’s all in the Marathon Manual.

We Couldn't Fit It All In The Manual

We were finished writing the Marathon Manual and realized we still had plenty to share. What about nutrition, clothes or specific schedules? We decided not to hold anything back, so we're giving you several bonus chapters that go EVEN MORE in depth.

Bonus #1: Marathon Fuel

"Marathon Fuel - The Runner's Recipe Book" provides advice on how to prepare simple meals that will fuel your run. The basic building blocks of a diet for an athlete are calcium, iron, protein and carbohydrates. These recipes find healthy and simple ways to get these nutrients while still tasting great. And while they're carefully crafted with the dietary needs of a runner, they aren't complicated.

You'll learn how to create healthy appetizers, main dishes and even desserts that will give you energy without the crash later on. Eating is an extremely important part of the training and recovery process, and the Marathon Fuel bonus will make sure you know exactly what to eat.

Bonus #2: Running Gear

To properly train for your marathon, and avoid a lot of discomfort, it’s important to have the right apparel and running gear. Runners are lucky – we don’t have to buy the expensive equipment that goes along with many sports. Instead, you’ll just need to find a few reliable pieces that will keep you cool and comfortable during your run. Unfortunately, the cotton t-shirts and athletic socks from Wal-Mart won’t cut it this time. Proper attire is essential to put you at your optimal performance, in all running conditions – heat, cold, rain and wind.

"Top Picks in Running Gear" will show you how to chose the best clothes, socks, shoes, and more. And not only that, I'll recommend some of my favorite gear. You'll know exactly what I use to train and compete to help YOU do the same.

Bonus #3: Running Schedules

Most marathon training schedules are ineffective and time-consuming. They require you to run five days a week. They wear out you and your body. And they are mind-numbingly boring.

In "A Running Schedule that Fits YOU," I'll explain why a modern, cross-training schedule will provide you with the necessary training in less time. And you'll get to enjoy a wide range of excercises, fewer injuries and an overall better training experience.

With a modern marathon training program at your finger tips, be prepared to impress your family and friends when you tell them how little you needed to run to reach your goal marathon time.

Bonus #4: Half-Marathon Guide

Successful long distance runners all have similar needs:

- A diet that fuels performance
- Rejuvenating sleep and lifestyle patterns
- Race day routines that calm and prepare the body
- Clothing and running gear designed to prevent injury

The one key difference between half-marathon training and preparing for a full 26.2-mile race is the training schedule.

Aspiring half-marathoners who use a standard marathon training schedule will finish their half-marathon just fine, but not as quickly as they could if they followed a schedule designed to prepare runners for a 13.1 mile race.

The “Half-Marathon Guide” contains three training schedules tailored to different skill levels. The beginners’ schedule starts with short runs and ramps up to the distance needed to finish a half-marathon. The intermediate schedule has longer average distances and allows runners to set and achieve personal time goals. Finally, the advanced schedule includes interval training and cross-training to help runners reach competitive levels.
