Tony (it does not feel right calling you by
your first name, but you told me to do it)!
Thank you so much for everything. The
session was great. I've felt a strong
headache for about five seconds after our
session, and then it dissipated as quickly
as it appeared. Then a few things happened
in rapid-fire style, and I'm still
mind-boggled:
about 45
minutes after the session I've got a
call for an assignment overseas after my
trip to Ottawa;
another
hour went by and another call came (from
the same U.S. Government agency) telling
me of another trip overseas, this time
to Africa, right after the first one;
then one
more call, informing of an assignment in
Asia (all these trips will be
back-to-back, and you can imagine what
they mean for someone who is a
free-lancer and only worked three days
since the end of July.) Then the final
drop in the bucket was ...
My lawyer
called me right after lunch – still on
Monday - to say that he was working on
the paperwork for a court appearance
regarding my divorce procedures and
would get back to time as soon as
possible with a date. To anyone else
this would sound like a routine call
dealing with something that happens
hundreds of times a day in North
America. Here though, lies the caveat: I
started my divorce procedures in
mid-1996 and have had to struggle
fiercely on an uphill battle, switching
attorneys and the like, spending a lot
of money, going ahead one centimeter
before going back what seemed to be a
whole kilometer. I was plain tired of
wasting time, money and energy
throughout the years – as you can well
imagine –, but suddenly all seems to be
heading in the right direction.
As you can
see, it seems that our little 20-minute
session has opened a floodgate of unexpected
